Blow-Out Preventers (BOPs)

Blow-out Preventers are those modified valves or related machinery that are used to contain, control and monitor oil and gas within wells, thereby preventing blowouts. The spontaneous, unpredictable and uncontrollable release of crude oil or gas from wells are called blowouts. This phenomenon caused by high pressure within wells can cause severe damage to rig machinery, crew, and surroundings. Installation of Blow-out Preventers ensures the safety of these components.
