KRISTIAN KOS

CEO

An avid innovator with an unwavering work ethic, Kristian founded MidCentral in 2010 with a vision to revolutionize energy efficiency. He’s been involved in various aspects of the energy industry since 2005, working at multiple oilfield service- and energy-related startups, as well as the founding of NYSE:NSLP in 2012.

Prior to entering the energy industry, Kristian worked in the financial sector for hedge fund manager Wexford Capital LP. He was also a professional rugby player, spanning his career in France, South Africa and Ireland (where he is originally from).

Kristian earned Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts degrees in Economics and Philosophy from Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland in 1999. He also earned a Master of Philosophy degree in Economics from the University of Aix-Marseille, France in 2000.

JUSTIN LOVEN

Executive Vice President

From Abilene, Texas and fourth generation industry professional, Justin is no stranger to energy. Before joining the MidCentral team, he served in various industry-focused leadership roles, with a primary focus on pressure pumping.

Justin earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from West Texas A&M University in 2008. After college, Justin joined Schlumberger—where he built a solid operational foundation in the Rocky Mountain region.

In 2012, he joined the Chesapeake team to assist in building the company’s vertically integrated pressure pumper, Performance Technologies. Justin served as Manager of Operations in each of the five operating regions. Following the merger of Performance Technologies (SSE) with Patterson UTI (PTEN), he led the Permian Basin business for Patterson as Director of Regional Operations through 2019.

In 2019, Justin joined the MidCentral team as EVP, focusing on strategically diversifying the MidCentral portfolio of companies.

JOE HORGAN

Vice President - Operations

Joe spent the first 11 years of his professional life playing baseball. He reached the MLB as a left-handed pitcher, where he made a valuable impact for his teams through scouting reports and analyzing game video. In the winters, he traveled all over North, Central and South America playing ball too, but eventually transitioned from the ball field to the oilfield in 2007.

Joe started as an equipment operator in the Gulf of Mexico, and then made his way across the country serving in multiple roles and multiple basins. He has experience in Operations Management, Sales, Training and Maintenance, and has worked in Louisiana, Texas, Oklahoma and West Virginia.

In 2020, he joined MidCentral, where he started in Business Development. It didn’t take him long to transition to the Regional Manager at our West Texas location—and eventually MidCentral’s Director of Site Services and Vice President of Operations

KYLE O’KELLEY

Vice President of Business Intelligence

Not far from his hometown of Hartshorne, Oklahoma, Kyle studied and graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Master of Business Administration.

Post-college, Kyle worked for SC Global Tubular Solutions in Houston, where he assisted in tubular distribution startups around the world. In 2008, he began working at Chesapeake Oilfield Services, and quickly moved to Business Manager for Great Plains, then Director of Business for Performance Technologies (PTL). During his time with these companies, Kyle implemented cost-saving and lean initiatives that reduced operating costs.

Today, Kyle continues to make an impact in the industry serving as MidCentral’s Vice President of Business Intelligence.

MATT HUGHES

Vice President – New Business Development now

With 35+ years in the energy industry, Matt is a force to be reckoned with. Originally from Jackson, Mississippi, Matt’s impact in the industry began in the 1980s when he received his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from Mississippi State University. He’s served in various leadership roles across the nation, and worked for major oilfield services companies like Schlumberger and Performance Technologies.

Armed with a deep well of knowledge and experience, Matt became MidCentral’s VP of Operations in 2020, and has continued to provide incredible value in his role in Manufacturing and Supply Chain

LORETTA CANON, SHRM-CP

Human Resources Director

Born in Mississippi and raised in Oklahoma, Loretta earned her undergraduate degree in Business Management and Ethics and her graduate degree in Leadership. She is an avid reader, and enjoys life with her family and two herding dogs: a blue heeler/border collie mix and red heeler.

With 20+ years of HR experience under her belt, Loretta is an expert in the field, and passionate about evolving the perception of “Human Resources.” From talent acquisition to talent management and strategic partnerships, Loretta is implementing her ideas and energy into all HR pillars—with a focus on cultivating collaborative relationships, empowering team members to achieve goals and investing in organizational culture that allows for engagement and development.

DOUG SATTERFIELD, CSP

HSE Director

Doug was born and raised in western Pennsylvania, where he pursued his degree in Occupational Health and Safety. He also pursued certification from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals and attained his Certified Safety Professional (CSP) accreditation in 2019.
He started his professional career in the oilfield in 2010. During his tenure, he’s worked mainly with fracturing, but also coiled tubing, cementing and wireline services. His commitment to building strong safety cultures and developing safe work environments made him a perfect fit for the MidCentral team—which he joined in 2020.
